The aims of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets are to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, to promote physical fitness, and to stimulate the interest of youth in the air element of the Canadian Forces. All this achieved through a challenging, yet disciplined environment. Air Cadets are not members of the Canadian Forces. However, the Canadian Cadet Movement is sponsored by the Department of National Defense in partnership with the Air Cadet League of Canada.

Application Requirements:

To be eligible for membership as a Cadet one must:
  1. be a legal resident of Canada:
    NOTE: A legal resident of Canada is a Canadian citizen, a landed immigrant, or, the dependant of a person who is lawfully resident in Canada on a temporary basis for the purpose of education or employment.
  2. be at least 12 years of age and not have attained 19 years of age;
  3. provide proof of provincial health insurance coverage or equivalent;
  4. not belong to another corps or squadron.

Application Process:

Step 1: Complete the online Application

Step 2 - Option 1: Attend in person with a legal Guardian at LHQ 1498 Government St, Penticton, BC, on new cadet registration night. (Watch for details but this is usually the second Tuesday of September).   ID will be required from the legal guardian.

Step 2 - Option 2 : Attend in person with a legal Guardian at LHQ 1498 Government St, Penticton, BC, between 6:00 and 7:00 pm on the second Tuesday of any month after your 12th birthday.  ID will be required from the legal guardian.

Step 3 - If possible pay the requested donation fee of $160.00 to the Squadron Sponsoring Committee by e-transfer or cheque.  To arrange payment or if not possible please contact the SSC treasurer by email at 259treasurer@gmail.com or in person.

Step 4 - Have a parent or legal guardian sign up as a screened member of the Squadron Support Committee (SSC). This is not mandatory, but always appreciated!
